This little jacket is trimmed with embroidery and features a satin stand-up collar and folded satin at the cuffs. The sleeves are tucked at the elbow to give their shape. Notice the other garments in this exhibit which also have shaped sleeves. This jacket belonged to Agnes Harmon Stansfield. She was a very small woman wo died at the age of 32 during childbirth.
Rear view of the above jacket. Notice the embroidery work at the yoke and the smocked waist. Sadly, the satin from one sleeve is now gone.
