Ralph Johnson ran slots for Charles Birger, managed business for the Sheltons and was the brain of the Herrin outfit during the Gang War of the 1920s.  By the 30s he was the most dangerous man of the coal beld of Southern Illinois.  In this book Ralph provides an inside account of Bloody Williamson County from the viewpoint of a Shelton gangster.  Jon Musgrave follows up Johnson's inside account and reveals how Johnson found himself at the center of the Shelton and Charlie Birger war.  Paperback and part of the True Crime in Illinois series.
